We just completed our webinar series in which we shared results from our Employer Brand Index study.
The graph above is one snapshot of the results of the retention results portion of the index here. The chart you see represents impressions of over 11,100 new hires and how their perceptions shift from 90 to 365 days of tenure.
We asked respondents to give us their level of satisfaction from the top two box view – satisfied or very satisfied across multiple categories related to retention.
In the graph, we see a correlation of awareness of advancement opportunities with education and training. As the respondents tenure reaches six months of employment, education and training have a positive impact on their awareness of advancement. Our perspective here is that as employees reach six months of tenure, they are not only further engaged in the culture to have advancement awareness, but also have followed an education and training schedule that has further cemented skills needed to succeed in the current role and future ones. So we see what education and training moves from 44% top 2 box at 90 days up to 58% at 6 months of tenure.
Advancement awareness has a minimal decline from 90 to 180 days, and by the time an employee reaches their 1 year tenure point, education and training has surpassed advancement awareness in the top 2 box results of satisfied or very satisfied.
So the bottom line here is that for companies that institute education and training programs that are consistent, and phased across tenure, then their employees will see a higher level of satisfaction with their advancement awareness over time. Respondents have also cited that the education and training programs have the most impact if they are formalized programs mapped to a career path, but even informal programs can create a lift in perception of advancement awareness.
